Meet Our Team
Over 40 Years of Expertise in Personal Property Sales and Estate Liquidation
A native of Chicago, in 1972 my family moved from the city’s suburbs to a small town in Western Michigan, where they had purchased a small store. That’s where my interest in collecting first began. My parents each gave me penny collections from their childhood, and before long, I became an avid coin collector myself.
At the age of 12, I was allowed to work on local farms, so I started working during the summers. I would spend my earnings at the auctions, accumulating a collection of various items that mostly included depression glass, primitives, and small pieces of furniture. During that time, I befriended a local antique dealer who became a mentor to me, sharing their knowledge, experience, and reference library with me.
In May of 1983 I turned 16, and in June I borrowed my Boy Scout troop leader’s van and set up and sold at my first antique show. I continued to do antique shows during the summer months throughout high school and college, using my hard-earned money to pay for my college education at Michigan State University, where I eventually obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business.
After graduating from MSU, I left the world of entrepreneurship and entered the corporate world, working for several organizations. In the following decades, I held a variety of positions in accounting, executive assistant to a high-net-worth individual, real estate sales, and management. I was always drawn back to the much more interesting world of buying and selling antiques.
In 2005, I said goodbye to the corporate world for good to focus my energy on what I loved—buying and selling higher-end items in various genres. I was well past strictly coin collecting and was now buying and selling Chinese porcelains and other antiques, fine and costume jewelry, antique silver, coins, and rarer pieces of porcelain, crystal, and other art.
I realized I could offer more, so in 2018 I made the decision to stop buying and selling antiques and to launch my own estate sale company. As much as I loved both, I realized there would be a conflict of interest and decided to shift my focus to the estate sale business.
That year I devoted my time to building my business and putting together a team of professionals that I both trust and respect. I knew this team would be able to provide the very best service to both our clients who hire us to sell their cherished personal belongings and to our customers who buy these items. We as a team take great pride in the quality of our work and the success of every sale.
